GoFundMe Campaign for Brookfield Community Food Cupboard’s Purchase of Essential Refrigeration

The Brookfield Community Food Cupboard serves students and neighbours of the Brookfield High School. After two years of operation the Cupboard now provides about 840 meals for a day each week, consisting of donated and purchased non-perishable foods.

However, to enrich meals the Cupboard has increasingly been receiving donations of perishables, like baked goods, fruits and vegetables, often in significant quantities. Particularly spring through autumn, more perishables are donated than can be distributed on a day, such that they must be refrigerated or even frozen until the next week.. That is why the Cupboard needs to purchase two appliances that can operate as either fridges or freezers – so BCFC can readily adapt to weekly situations.
