Library Services

Library Services

Hunt Club has no bricks and mortar public library. Since 2009 there has been a book return, book dispenser and unmanned book delivery locker system at the Riverside Park Hunt Club Community Centre. These programs were pilots. In 2019 a report prepared by Ottawa Public Library (OPL) staff went to the OPL Board recommending the pilots be allowed to die a natural death when the machines ended their natural lives (within the next few years).

  • HCCA responded by engaging residents to sign a petition asking OPL services be maintained and enhanced for our neighborhoods. A presentation was made to the OPL Board asking for future consideration and planning to meet the needs of our residents.
  • A Library Services Matter committee was formed with the Riverside Park Community Association in 2019. Its role is to champion the needs of our residents, to work cooperatively with the OPL Board and staff to maintain and enhance public library services.
