Brookfield Community Food Cupboard

We in Hunt Club, like most Ottawa communities, are not untouched by food insecurity. In May 2024 the Brookfield Community Food Cupboard (BCFC) opened its doors in the Brookfield High School to help address our needs. It supplements other food security programs, like the Heron Emergency Food Centre (the designated food bank for our area).

Individuals / families in the Riverside Park and Hunt Club areas, as well as students and families served by Brookfield who live in other areas, are able to access the BCFC weekly. BCFC is run by community volunteers for the community!

The Hunt Club Community Association is proud to be one of BCFC’s partner organizations to help sustain its critical work. On our website, our Facebook site, Instagram and other social media you may see notices of food drives and fundraising events which we will advertise throughout the year.

If you need food, please check the BCFC website for information on visiting the Cupboard – see “How to Access”.

If you are in a position to kindly donate, the website also provides this information – see “How to Donate”. Following the instructions for financial donations through Canada Helps provides an immediate tax receipt.
