Since our municipal councillor has already been acclaimed in this year’s October 26th municipal election (Congratulations Councillor Brockington!), we have an opportunity not only to focus on who we want as mayor of our capital city, but on who we want as school board trustees.   This role is hugely important in shaping how our schools are run.

Our schools are foundational, in our democratic society.  Whether you have children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews in our school system, please consider the importance of choosing which trustee candidate to elect in whichever school board you support.

To help you do this, we have posted a few helpful resources here:

1.  A list of trustee candidates for all four school boards where parents of children in River Ward can choose to send their children.

2.  An English and a French version of what you need to do if you prefer to have your taxes support a school board other than the default English public school board, the OCDSB.

3.  The tabulated responses to a parent-created survey asking four key questions for the three candidates running to be the OCDSB school board trustee.

We hope that you find these documents useful.
